January Community Deathcare Meeting & Legal Clinic - NEW LOCATION

As an organization in service to, and so led by, community, Wake learns about where the gaps in accessible deathcare are, in New Orleans, by noticing what kinds of help people are coming to us for. Spoiler alert: Some needs remain constant, but others change, at least from our perspective. We'll share what we learned, in the last year, about ways to serve our community at end of life, and where the needs are.

 

Wake’s monthly Community Deathcare Meeting is open to anyone working in end-of-life care in the New Orleans area, as a volunteer or professionally, and to anyone interested in doing that work. It’s an opportunity to meet each other, to share resources, and to explore how we can support each other in meeting the needs of our community.

Starting again in 2024, our Community Deathcare Meeting includes a legal clinic, where you can learn about and pick up Living Will (Declaration Concerning Self-Sustaining Procedures) and/or Funeral and Disposition of Remains Directive forms, fill them out and have them notarized for free. 

A note about Propeller: Parking is available and the building entrance is through the glass double doors at the back of the front parking lot.
