Wake is partnering with the Trans Income Project to provide the trans community with info and guidance for various aspects of death care planning.

 Deathcare is healthcare and, like the healthcare system, the deathcare system, in the United States, is rife with systemic inequities. These inequities, predictably, have the most impact on vulnerable communities. Learn how to protect your access to the care you want and need, and your agency to make your own decisions, in the event that you die or become incapacitated. Wake, a New Orleans-based deathcare nonprofit, will share information about advance planning and navigating the funeral industry, with special emphasis on issues of importance in the Trans community (chosen family, respect for identity, etc.).
